Our Focus
Curriculum

Our curriculum incorporates elements and inspiration of both Montessori and Waldorf and is tailored to each class, each year. At our core, the goal is to focus on developing social emotional skills and a love of the natural world.
To bring the learning to life, we use monthly themes (Creative Curriculum). Parents can keep up to date on our themes through teacher updates via our school messaging app. Each week, teachers send a recap of the week and the learning theme.
Art
Children are encouraged to be creative and imaginative with open ended art. Our nature-based approach allows children to express themselves through various art mediums. We encourage each child to let their imagination come up with the masterpiece.
Music
Music is a daily part of school. Before meal times, each class gathers and sings the "Golden Corn" song together. We also play music throughout the day, dancing together as well as bringing out our instruments or creating new instruments with items in our play yard.
Movement
Engaging in physical activities and working on gross motor skills is a big part of our day. On days when students have extra energy, we spend time running outside. Other times we are engaged in an imaginative game moving through the jungle.
Language
Language progression is one of the most exciting ways we see children learn in early child education. At age one, children recognize about 50 words and by age five, they recognize at least 10,000 words! We get to see this firsthand every day and this learning happens constantly at school with teachers and also friends.
Mathematics
Our classrooms cover early math skills through most of the activities we do. Whether it's counting out loud during a project or reciting numbers during Circle Time, it's integrated into our activities through structured and unstructured time.
Outside Play
We are outside rain or shine moving our bodies, playing in the sand box or making food in our play kitchen. Our open play yard has ample shade and cover, tables, bikes, sensory bins and more. Each child also has their own patch of garden to plant their seeds and watch them grow.
